Bangai cardinal RIP

Well. .the bangai cardinal I bought as a small juvenile tank raised from a local reefer bit the bucket some time last night/this morning. He was really lodged well under a rock.

The previous day I noticed he was not really aggressive going after food and I dumped extra food in the tank for him, which he ate. I noticed some of his tail fins were frayed recently: I didn't see anyone picking on him.

Normal lifespan of a bangai is 5-6 years. I can't remember when I bought him, but I think I might have had him for at least 3-4 years.

Hate those sad mysterious fish deaths! I've never seen anyone go after him so unless the green serpent, which is not that big, went nuts. Don't know what happened.

That's too bad.
That's a pretty good stretch to have a fish with the things that happen with equipment/aggression and stuff.
