Barry of ClamsDirect visits ME

Hey everyone,

Just want to let ya know that SWAM (Salt Water Addicts of Maine) will be hosting Barry of ClamsDirect in October. He will be in town on Oct 13-14. We will have him talk either in Portland or Brunswick at Bowdon College. Details will follow but just want to let ya know so you can mark your calendar if you are interested in attending this talk

Nice. What will he be talking about?

Excellent! An event up here.
If I can get settled with a move to back to Portland, I'd offer to host a get together, maybe a frag swap.

I am assuming he is speaking about clams :p
Sorry, I had asked for a topic but he has offered nothing yet.... he did send his bio to us where he spoke at MACNA, it may be along the same line..... I will definately let ya all know for sure...

I truely hope there will be no snow in Oct, maybe even no frost by then, if the summer is any indication, we are all set for a mild winterbut one can only hope...

Naturebatslast, (and anyone else so inclined) SWAM is holding an picnic/auction that you are welcome to attend... it is Aug 6, picnic and play time from 12-3 auction from 3:30-4:30ish. One of the members lives on a lake so there should be some good times to be had on and in the water as well as a great get together.

sounds like a car pooling event.

Such a great venue...We had a blast while attending for Anthony C. last November!
I think this one will have to make the short list!
BTW if anyone is interested in lodging we stayed about 15 mins away at The Harraseeket Inn,
Highly Recomended!!!!

BTW Daire, and Scavo ....will you be weak again ?;)

:p BUT, I think Joe announced that we have a meeting that weekend (Oct 14th). Did anyone else hear this?

good point. I have short term memory lost...wait, what was that again?

Just a reminder that Barry will be here visiting ME on Oct 14. SWAM will be taking him out for a lobster dinner on Frin night, if you would like to join us please let us know. He will be staying at the Embassy Suites on Fri evening, maybe we can con him into letting us hang with him for a while... ;)

He will be speaking at Southern Maine Community Collge n S Portalnd ME from 10 til noon. It wil be in the Marine Science Center, room 111.
That is also the date of the open house for SMCC so you may be able to tour the marine science center afterwards.

I have attached a flyer for you all to post at random. I really hope it turned out that our dates do not conflict... we currently only host one event per year, go figure if we happen to conflict on this one :(

I believe there is a SWAM member trying to do a group order type deal as well, if there is interest in that I can direct you to here.....

Hope to see you then!
