Not sure if this has been done or not just thought I would pass it on after removing my new Picasso clowns from the overflow 2 times in the 2 days I have owned them...

Pretty simple. On the back wall I took some clear tube (think it was "1 OD) just sliced it down the long way and put it over the back wall.. I can get some pics up if anyone needs them..

Mike...

Sounds interesting

Pics would be good
Or a better description of what ya got goin on there.

I little hard to get what ya mean.

the second gen ones have the plastic raised up about an inch for this, mine is like yours though

Mine is a new one, and its raised but one of my fish keeps getting back there. I dont know how, it touches the top, but he gets thru. I am going to have to try that, easy enough.

ah now I see.
Not having one of those tanks, I had no clue what you were talking about.

Now that you posted a pic, newer members with those tanks may take benefit from your idea.

Simple but very effective I bet it is not noticeable once the hood is shut.
Kudos for a good solution.

yeah cant see anything when the hood is closed.. I put it up high on the wall so it gave me about 1" of height.. Water level was at the top of the wall so it was easy for them to get over it now they have to jump but still don't think they can get over because I think the top is pretty much touching the hose..

You've blocked up the spill wall... Now if your intake gets a clog it'll continue to fill the display chamber and possibly overfill it causing a bit of a mess... I did something very similar, but I used egg crate so in the event of a backup the spill feature still functions.
