Blown Ballast?

I have a 4 bulb icecap retrofit fixture and today it won't go on. I noticed yesterday it shut off 2 times on its own. I plugged it in both times and it went right back on. Today when i went to go plug it in, i get nothing, the lights don't even flicker. I checked the bulbs wires and end caps and everything seems connected. I bought the fixture about a year ago used and im thinking its the ballast. Think the ballast died?

Also how long can my corals go without light before they start to die? I have a mixed reef a few sps, but mostly zoas and leathers.

P.S, If anyone nearby has a spare fixture i could borrow until i fix/buy another it would really help.

Try removing and reinserting the lamps to make sure they are rotated the proper way, might just be a bad connection and has happened to me more times than I care to count also check the connection( remove and re insert) the connecting cable at the ballast. If its an icecap ballast its unlikely the culprit.Pushing it,your corals can go several days...that's pushing it though IMO.

Did u own up the fixture itself? I had a blown capacitor in mine one time and just had to replace it. Been working great ever since

Thanks for the tips, i discovered last night that the fuse blew on it. I went out today and got the right fuse type and as soon as i tried to plug it in, the ballast sparked and let out a bit of that electrical smoke. I took it apart afterwards and it seems like the front part of the circuit board where the power enters got chared. Tried using a new fuse but nothing happened. Im thinking its blown for sure this time, or at least past the point where i could fix it.

Probably best for me to turn my attention on getting a replacement at least for now.
