Boston Area LFS Map

I took a look at the club's list of Boston area LFS, and couldn't figure out what LFS(s) might be within a reasonable distance to me, so I decided to see if I could easily create a custom web based map with all the LFS.

I never tried this before, but here is the result. I figured I'd share. There is a link at the bottom showing how this was done. I would have preferred google maps to yahoo, but this seemed like the fasted way to get my map.

I think it would be handy to have that link posted on the LFS links page, but the owner of the server says that the link will be deleted after two months of not being used. Also note that Aqua Addicts is missing from the list, but I added it to the map.

just to let you know boston tropical fish and reptile was burnt down 2 years ago but that is a sweet job i must say

There are a lot of them that are no longer there. ANd a bunch of current sponsors are not even listed???

Someone made a really good map like this already. It is in a thread in the reef talk forum.

that's the one I was talking about. Now we can add the other shops that are not really LFS, but have aquarium products, to that one and have a great map of New Englad shops.

Nice, already did that on google maps though.See this thread
Looks like yours might be a little more comprehensive than mine though.
Good work.

Hmm, I just imported the BRS LFS list from here: http://www.bostonreefers.org/links/#lfs I'm just getting back into the hobby after having my stuff in storage for a few years, so I have no idea about the status of the stores on the list.

Would it be safe to say that a superset of both lists is a pretty good assessment of what is available? As noted there are some BRS sponsors that aren't even listed on the BRS LFS list.

I forgot aboutt fire fire at Boston Tropical Fish and Reptile. I should have remembered that, I used to live within walking distance of that place.

Is there way to import some kind of list into google maps? Or did you do that manually?

Good job! Seeing you're somewhat new again and haven't been around for a while there have been a lot of changes, now that you have your map you're ready for some reefer road trips.

Unfortunately the BRS LFS page that you got your info from has not been updated, not your fault.
