Evolving BRS calendar for 2009

The new president and BOD will be shaping this schedule throughout the year, so check back regularly for changes and updates.

The BRS has generally had a policy of having meetings on the last Saturday of every month. We have, however, sometimes interspersed a few Sunday meeting, particularly outside of football season. The calendar below tries to avoid holidays that typically will drive attendance of the meeting way down. The schedule also attempts to avoid other important events in the marine hobby.

This leaves us with the following for Saturday/Sunday dates, following the general guide of meetings on the last weekend of each month.

Jan 25 Sunday - Noon - 4 PM - Saugus American Legion - Do it yourself demo meeting - likely to involve demos of homemade equipment and equipment modification, coral propagation, etc.

March 8 Sunday - Noon - 4 PM - Framingham Lodge of Elks - Annual member donated frag and used equipment auction

March 29 - Bridgewater Vet's Club, 85 Cottage, St. Bridgewater, MA 02324. Beginers Q&A

April 26 - VFW lodge at 32 Park St in North Andover, MA. Reef disaster prevention

May 30/31 - cancelled - possible regional cookout/fishgoo.

June 27 - Framingham Elks- Frank Marini - Noon- 4

July 25th - Possible Reefkeeping Junk Yard Wars Competition - if enough interest
July 25th - Bridgewater Vets Club - Marc Levenson - noon -4

Aug 15th- road trip again to Atlantis (multi-club frag swap/meeting)

Aug 22 - James Fatheree - Framingham Elks

Sept 12- Frag farmer event to kick off the season - VFW Post #168, 238 Deer Street, Portsmouth, NH - 11:00AM-4PM

Oct 23-24- BRASS conference Mitch Carl, Steven Pro, Frank Marini, Ron Hessing and more "ALL Day Conference Event"

Nov 21 - Saturday - Annual elections / yard sale

Dec 12/13 -no meeting

I'm closing this thread to keep it 'clean' and readable, but please feel free to comment upon the schedule in the BRS business section.
