Calling all tank builders (glass or acrylic)

Hey all,
I have an idea to make a custom tank to fit on a built in bookcase in my house which currently has a 20 long and a 10 both freshwater. I'd like to combine them to have an interesting "L" shaped tank for tetra schools, etc. This tank can be either glass or acrylic, whichever is cheaper. I only have a vague idea of what this might cost to make from materials and such. I know a few of you have experience building sumps/tanks so I'd like your opinion on if this is possible without spending a lot of money. Obviously the materials will cost a bit, and I'd be willing to pay some for the construction. This is just an idea I've been tossing around, so if some people could PM me with some ballpark prices on what they think this thing would cost to make, that'd be really great. I've attached a rough sketch of the dimensions.

Thanks,
Chris

I'm getting about 40 gallons for that.

You might be able to do it in glass if you find a used 30 long? (48x12x12) and cut it up a bit.

Just a gut here but I'd say 4-5 in acrylic and 5-6 in glass at a quality builder.
(maybe cheaper at someone like Glass Cages but I don't think I'd trust that one to someone with less than first rate quality)

of course something you build yourself would be much less

Yeh, I'm thinking it might be possible to build it up myself with some help out of acrylic.
