You could also put a pump chase on it if you don't want to increase the back pressure on the pump. Place a T on the outlet before the throttling valve and run it back to the pump inlet. As you throttle the outlet it will redirect water back to the inlet. If you use a valve on the chase return you have virtually infinite control over the flow to the tank with minimal extra heat from back pressure on the pump.
