I know some reefers don't get upset over losing a fish..I do though. I've been really lucky and haven't lost one in my 29 for quite a long time...pretty harmonious. For the first time yesterday, I noticed my canary blenny looking slightly emaciated which I found odd because I've seen him eating consistently (or so I thought). Today he's clinging to the back corner of the tank, looking even more emaciated and pictures don't really do it justice but where he is clearly sunken in, he's got a lot of redness there - almost looks bacterial infection-ish. He's not gilling hard, just the opposite, really slow. I did move a few rocks today and dropped one when my maroon clown bit me, it's crossed my mind that I might have injured him - though I didn't see anything of the sort.
My levels are ok, he's never been picked on. Damnit I just feel badly - I love that fish.
Any thoughts? Is recovery at all possible?
