Krystal Clear Aquatics has one of those (or something very similar). Kinda cool.

they had to remove all the snails becouse every time one climes over the side it becomes a deflector and shoots water off the side of the tank to the flor, it hapend at night one time and drained the sump.

It acturally a great idea for fresh water but not so much for salt water. You have to scrape Both side of the front panel for coraline algae. Also, you dont have shimmer anymore even with metal halide.

And imagine the evap rate on that, SG would be swinging rapidly without a super accurate ATO.
