Just noticed that my true percs have a batch of eggs. I'm not set up to raise them, but if anyone is I'd be happy to give them away if I can catch any. (How difficult is it to catch them, I'm guessing it's a bit challenging?)

I heard it can be really hard to hatch them, and have them grow.

how long ago did the eggs apear?

Yea, that's what I thought. Figured there might be an off chance of catching a few if someone out there was setting up a clown hatchery and didn't have any fry at the moment.

I'm not sure when they layed them, but I just noticed them a couple of hours ago.

If they are totally orange you have around 7 days before they hatch. Over this time the orange yolk sack will get smaller every day and the silvery eyes will get bigger and more reflective. on the last day you will see no orange left and a few of the bodies will look slightly iridescent purplish. That night they will generally hatch out 30 min after lights out (although mine always go after midnight) They will be super tiny, but you can see them if you shine a small flashlight down into the tank. Use a clean white bowl or clear bag to scoop them up where the light is shining.

If it is the clown's first clutch , most breeders don't try to raise them since it takes several clutches for the babies to be really strong and well formed for some reason.

Silvery eyes are quite clear, sacs look dark, not pink.

I don't know if it's the first clutch, I have seen the mating dance and oviposter (is that the right word) protruding from the female numerous times in the past. I may have not noticed eggs before, or this could be the first time?
