CO2 fill up in RI

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a place to fill Co2 tanks and not swap them. I was told Airgas only does swaps. thank you

Most places only do swaps, you might have luck at paintball places though for fills.

Most places will only fill tanks bought from them. It becomes a liability thing if they refill an unknown tank and it goes boom.

It’s not so much that they will only fill tanks bought from them it’s they will only fill tanks that have been hydrostically tested within 5 years. The last hydro test will be stamped on the cylinder or it will be from date of manufacture which is also stamped on the cylinder. That is why exchanging cylinders is best practice and cheapest since you will always end up with a cylinder that is within the test frequency. If you are concerned about the appearance of the cylinder they make neoprene sleeves that make them look better.

I swap mine out at the local beer brewing store 99% of the time they’re aluminum tanks. You paid for the tank cost the first time and then you only pay for a swap from any time after that. It gives me the ability to have a spare tank doing it this way for minimal cost.

I go to greenzone grow shops in Worcester and they don’t even check the hydro date. Just swap it out and take the shiniest newest looking aluminum tank haha.

Only $15, so cheap. My last swap (2/29/2024) was $63.70 total at Airgas.
