Hello all my fellow reefers. Been a while since I posted on here lol.
Does anyone have CO2 scrubber media & or scrubber for sale cheapedy cheap???
Please advise as I moved from Clinton to Peabody and the PH on my tank has plummeted from 8-8.2 to 6.7-7.28. Hoping the scrubber will help me. Please advise ASAP and thanks in advanced.

How are you measuring the pH? If the pH is really that low, I'd guess that your house is super-tight and the CO2 level in the air is really high. If it's that low even when the windows are open, I'm at a loss.

I've never used a CO2 scrubber but from what I've read the media doesn't last long and it winds up costing a lot to keep replenishing it.

You could try connecting your skimmer's air intake to an airline that runs outdoors. Folks say that can help.

My ph probe on my Neptune stated that measurement. Tanks is definitely in a stagnant area for sure and I was dreading having to move it but I’m going to have to for PH’s sake! Thank you for your prompt reply.

When did you last calibrate the pH probe and how old is it?

Can you run half inch or so tubing from a window to your skimmer and see if it helps raise the ph?

Outside air line connected to skimmer is the easiest and best for stability.

CO2 scrubber was difficult to manage and created pH swings when the media ran out and when media was replaced. You have to change the media sooner than later. Once the pH starts dropping the media only has a couple days left. If you get busy or aren’t paying attention there’ll be large pH swings. Also have to keep some water in the bottom of the chamber and make sure that doesn’t dry out. CO2 scrubbers do work, but I sold both of mine and connected outside air to the skimmer.

With outside air connected to a skimmer, the skimmer needs to be running to raise pH.

I had a 2” pvc pipe that ran 30’ from the basement wall to the skimmer.

Get a larger canister because the media depletes fast with the small BRS RODI canister. It lasted 2 about weeks, but the more CO2 in your place the faster the media is used up.

Gotcha. I think I’m gonna have to relocate it to my bedroom or by a window so this way I have a better PH and not rely on the scrubber if worse comes to worse. This will be the third time I move the tank which I hate doing lol

7.21 is way too low and I would guess your pH probe needs to be recalibrated or there is something else wrong with it.

I run a CO2 scrubber and a line outside and eventually plan to hook up two solenoids that will be controlled by the pH to change between outside air and inside air for the skimmer.

Will double check and recalibrate to make sure it’s not the probe. Thank you.
