Coral glue advice please

Hi everyone, I've got great advice in just a few posts here, so thought I'd try this question. You've already helped solve my cycle and hair algae issues :)

I'm kind of annoyed at making plugs fit some of my live rock, and would also like to start learning how to frag (although I don't have anything that size yet, ha). For starters, I'm wondering if anyone could help me by telling me:

- what is a good glue to use?
- any tips on how to use it?
- how about removing frags from their plug? Any advise on that?

As a random example, I've got a yellow digi (thanks Frank) on a plug. If I wanted to glue that guy onto a rock, how would I remove the digi from the plug, and how would I glue it onto a rock? I've read some stuff about putting some glue on the bottom of the coral, dipping it in water, putting more on...etc... but damn if I understand it without doing it.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

What works best for me is a combination of epoxy and superglue. I snap the stem off, put on some superglue gel, add a bit of epoxy, put on some more superglue, and then attach to my rockwork.

You could also just snap the digi of the plug and attach it to your rockwork with superglue.

When using super glue use the gel kind, I find it easier to put the frag onto the plug that way. Also, I find that some plugs have bigger bases than others to.

the gel kind is a MUST. The liquid stuff is hard to work with, and you have to have a frag with a flat surface if you used the liquid. I got some free samples of this coral glue from ecotech marine. Its just called coral glue, with Ecotech Elements symbol on it like this "Ee". Its a sample so its pretty vague but the stuff is amazing.

i just use the loc-tite super glue gel from HD or Lowe's. its a larger tube and seems to last a bit longer then the little tubes. i just put a blob of it on the rock(yes in the tank under water) or plug i want it on and stick the frag stem in it...

I have used this too, its great. Get the bigger bottle though, as i got the smaller one and wish i got more. Its a silver bottle with blue little grips on the side that you can press in to kind of "pump" out the gel. This was probably one of the most convenient type of glue and container i have seen in non fish stores. Loc-tite is a good brand too. I bought a smaller bottle though and i found that the small needle sized tip clogged sometimes, so i had to use a paper clip to poke inside, and then sometimes the dried piece i poke in gets inside the container and can restrict the flow when your holding the bottle upside down. The bigger bottle may not have this problem.Give it a shake or re-poke to move the piece out again. Sorry for the rant but just wanted to give you the rundown lol.

I also use loctite super glue gel. The dispenser really DOES make it alot easier when fragging. I also highly recommend. I get mine for about 2$ at target.

Thank you all very much! It still weirds me out that you can use super glue underwater, I am struggling with that concept. I appreciate the help.

This method works best for me as well. You can get the epoxy/putty at most local hardware stores (http://www.polymericsystems.com/epoxies-adhesives/epoxy-putty-sticks/aquamend.htm)

for the amount of fragging i do ,it works out perfectly for me.i use up the tube and chuck it.if i did more fragging i would definately go for one of the bigger and better glues above.
