Coraline scraping

Troubleman

Non-member
after seeing other before and after shots of back glass scraped, I played around with photoshop and repainted my background black again. What a difference, so on that note, I have been scraping it off a little at a time, so as not to stress corals, fish, etc.....almost done and it is amazing how much everything stands out now.....when I finish I will post some pics.

Will the coraline that I could not suck out in the process be a problem......some has settled where I cannot get to it?

bob

i doubt it would be a problem, i scraped my whole tank about a month ago and it looked a heck of alot better. Especially with a black background to accentuate the colors of the corals!

trying to keep sand bed clean and white, not possible with coraline pieces everywhere.......

hey thanks, never thought of that.....will do it with the rest, little area left to do

finally got a day off..... 12, 16 hour days in two weeks.......

Here's the before:

Great effect on these... It's interesting because to me, the darker spot in the center (not sure if it's the shadow by the tank divider or not) actually makes it look like it has some nice depth to it into the distance.

Armando, you can barely see the purple coral in the top left of the "before" picture. I started scraping mine about a month ago too. It's funny how these trends come and go isn't it?

I'm a longtime scraper.

Wow.....looks good with the blue background, everything 'pops' with color.

Definitely makes everything stand out more..... but I guess I'm in the minority... I prefer the natural "lived in" look. Hmmm, but then again it may be the laziness factor. ;)
