Can I hook up a calcium reactor from from my sump off of my return line using a vinyl hose. Its an A&E tech etss 400 with a 1/4 inch jaco fitting inlet feed. If so what can I use to do it. Plumbing is def not a strong point of mine, so any suggestions would be greatly aprecciated. THANKS JOJO!!

I may not have as much knowledge as some in this area, but I would say that is probably more trouble than it is worth and may be too much feed. I would recommend a separate pump running out of your sump to feed the reactor. I believe I have a minijet 600 series whatever that one is, the 660 I think, and then you can adjust it to meet your needs. Trying to take off your return might be asking for trouble. just my 2c and someone may disagree and be able to tell you how to do it easily, but just my opinion....

Ive read that you can split the return line using a T. 1 to the tank and 1 to the reactor. what I was wondering is is you can use vinyl hosing rather than pvc pipe. As far as flow rate, Im not sure how much is too little or too much. Ive seen the model I'm bying at Underwater world In tauton and thats how they have theirs hooked up to their display. The inlet feed to the reactor is similar to the hosing used for ro/di filters so I need to find something that I can use to run water through it without getting too complicated.

You can run it off your return pump, or your skimmer pump (we all have enough pumps we don't need more) the flow rate through Ca reactor is so little it will not tax your return or skimmer pump.
