Following. I'd also love to see what others experience is with the hydros. I've currently got the apex lineup and want to switch

Thanks for the reply let's start it off by why do you want to switch?

I did a lot of research comparing Apex and Hydros and from what I gathered Apex has more bells and whistles for super fancy setups and Hydros was more for my kind of setup which is minimalistic. My main issue with Hydros was that super cheap wifi outlet and that I didn't like how it wasn't physically connected to the actual controller.

That being said Hydros has made some newer modules since they've launched and I did my research within the first 6 months of it launching.

I also ended up going with an old Reefkeeper Elite I had lying around that I got from a member on her years and years ago just never set it up and it works for what I want/need which is redundancy. Only thing I sort of wish the RKE setups could still connect to internet but at the same time it would probably annoy me as I'd always be checking on it!

Yes that was my only wary as well with the wifi outlets. I know I will need an xp8 or atleast the launch for my system critical controls. I wonder what the wifi outlets default to with a wifi outage?

I thought Hyrdos came out with plugs that are now connected to the unit/modules?

They do it's called the launch it has 4 outlets built into the controller and then the other option is a xp8 seperate device connected via command bus.

I believe the 4 outlets will be enough for me for my critical control items ( return pump and heater and then I will be utilizing the drive ports to run the pumps I also consider critical i.e ato/awc
