DIY 10 gallon sump/ refugium for 10 gallon reef

Hi, I was thinking about a diy sump/ refugium for my 10 gallon and I already have the extra tank and tools to cut acrylic.. do you think this setup would work? also what do you think i should do for an overflow.. i want to do a DIY one but im not sure how.. thanks and any help would be apreciated!

as far as the overflow goes and you want to diy it, theres many different pvc designs out there that are very easy to put together and very inexpensive, google “ pvc overflow ”,

also couldnt open your attachment for some reason so i cant give you feedback on that

The one i was thinking is very similar to this one but have one less baffle on the bubble trap.. and the heater would go right before the bubble trap

i think that would be just fine for the sump.

you dont really need a refugium for tank unless u want to culture pods, and or for nutrient export

sump looks good. one thing you may want to think about (i will be adding this to my current change over sump because well, you learn as you go) is a few cut out holes for filter socks to fit into just under the pipes taking the water from the tank overflow into the sump. You could always run it without them, but having the option of just plopping filter socks in just in case you need to run carbon or any filter media for any reason is not a bad idea. Up to you tho...it's one of those things that's not necessary but can be a luxury.
