DIY egg crate top

Guys I did a DIY egg crate top for my 75 gallon to let more par into the tank. I noticed the glass tops i had where killing about 100 par going through.
What do you guys think?

Have you measured how much par you lose with the egg crate tops?

It would be interesting to compare.

I like the clear mesh screen as I think it lets even more light through than the egg crates. Only benefit to glass tops IMO is less evaporation but I'd rather have more PAR and more evaporation!

With the clear egg crate I used I'm losing 25-30 par so I'm getting 70% more par than what I was getting.

Definitely a much cheaper option than a mesh top. I like it!
