a sheet of plexiglass as long as your tank is deep about 12in(maybe bigger for a bigger fish??) wide and put it in the corner. feed behind the glass in the corner till he swims in. I've caught my melanurus this way a few times.

Im gonna try dynamite and a harpoon first then i will let you know how it works. I am actually gonna try the plexiglass thing thanks for you help everyone

I hear that some corals love the added waterflow from a good explosion.

mine loves nori so i would put the clip on the glass in the corner. i tie a piece of fishing line to the top edge of it and sit back once he goes in pull the string...

This is a very good idea, never thought of that before... I have a melanurus as well hopefully i wont have to get him out because he is one smart fish. well except the other day he tried "tried" to eat a bristleworm.

You could also try waiting for lights out when he dives in the sand and scoop him up.

I fed the fish and he came up from to the surface and i scooped underneath him abd got him!! He is now in the 160 bull nose
