Ebo Jagar Heaters...

Who is using them? I used to used titanium ones with a controller. These will be on an AC Jr. but I just got the three 200 watt ones in that I ordered and it says they are not submersible?? Do people like them? I really don't like the idea of a heater I can not submerse.

EDIT: People on RC also said they were but on the heater it states, "Do not immerse beyond water level."

mine states that too.. it's been fully submersed for over 2 years with absolutley no problems?

I love the heater, great quality at an affordable price.

Thanks Joel, that's what I was hoping to hear. I got three of them for the new tank because I heard such good things and I have always had good results with Eheim products.

yeah, not sure why they put that label on there not to submerge them... i'm thinking maybe they just don't want to make claims that could leave them liable if something goes wrong, or possibly they are one of those companies that likes to understate what the equipment is capable of so it exceeds customers expectations? (Bubble King is famous for that).

Not really sure, but i've not had any issues what so ever with it.. and taking the heater out and looking at it, other than being a bit dirty theres nothing wrong with it, no water inside and working like it did new out of the box.

Are they glass heaters? I prefer Titanium or Stealths.

they are glass, but it's not flimsy thin glass, it's thick glass, hard to break it unless you're trying.

That said i've had almost all good experiences with stealths too.. although i don't personally think the same quality is there (internally). I've got nothing solid to back it up, it's just my findings personally. Still a great heater though, if i couldn't have a Jagar i'd get a stealth.

Me too Ray..Just heard so much good about these I figured I would give them a try this time.

I have a number of Ebo heaters ranging from 10+yrs old to a couple years old. The newer models state 'non-submersible' and the old ones state 'fully submersible'. This is going back a few years but I did a some research and if I remember correctly, I found that the current disclaimer was nothing more than a CYA and many aquarists continue to use these heaters submersed with no problems.

That being said, there is a visible difference between the old vs current style, on the top of the heater where the thermostat control is located. I continue to use the current models but only on pre-mix ect and I do my best to keep the top of the heater out of the water just in case.

On my main system I use titanium tubes with no thermostats on a controller. IMO the less o-rings seals etc, the safer you're going be.

Jager took their already superior heater and made it better. Jager All New TS Series heaters are completely waterproof, submersible heaters perfect for freshwater or saltwater use. Heavy duty 2mm thick shock resistant Pyrex glass construction are twice as thick as most other heaters and far stronger. The tempearture is adjustable from 64°F and 94°F with an easy to adjust thermostat. Precision bistable thermostat with an impressive +/- 0.5° accuracy. Free from radio and TV interference. 6 foot double insulated power cord included.

THEY ARE ALSO NOW MADE BY EHEIM

Jager is all I use on my reef tanks, superior quality!

I used the adjustable thermostat to re-zero it in because it has been running so long.

I have had mine submerged for a long time with no ill effects, recently I have just the very tips out of the water, but that is just because I have short tanks.

You will not be disappointed!!
