Emerald and Red Mythrax crabs eating Zoes?

I've seen both my emeralds and my sally lightfoot picking algae near, or even on my zoas, but haven't seen any disappear.

It's been reported on RC before that Emeralds can eat zoas, but in my experience you're more likely to have a pest hitchhiker crab doing the dirty work.

I have 3 Emeralds and have the same experience as Jay.

I read that the red mithrax crabs pick through zoas in the wild. It looks like they are eating them, but they are just trying to pick out food. I have 8-10 mithrax, both green and red, and they pick through my zoas often, but none of them are gone.

I banished an Emerald to the fuge for this. He may have been framed by the Majestic but the scrape marks on the rock and the polyp in his claw made me suspect a bit more than algae picking on this rock. The rock was 100% covered with zoas.

:)

I can see it - the crab gets caught red handed as he yells on his way out of the display "I was fraaaaaaaamed!"
