Euroreef mesh mod first attempt

After watching Davep and Neo's video a bunch of times I decided to try this mod on my Euroreef. Of course I purchased and extra needle wheel in case I messed things up.

Anyway here it is ...

Needles removed and mesh material cut.

Spots marled to drill the holes.

Holes drilled in the wheel and ready for the mesh.

Another shot of the wheel with the holes in it.

Tie wraps ready and mesh ready to be applied.

First piece fitted and center cut.

First tie wrap in place.

All ties in place and ready to trim the mesh.

Trimmed up and almost done. Just need to trim the center.

Hi,
Just want to ask, where do you order an extra needle wheel and the mesh material? What is that mess material made of? I look at my ER skimmer, the needle wheel fit tightly into it's spot. If your mesh material stick out like that, couldn't it hit the wall of pump and damage the whole thing somehow?

I'll know more when I try it later today but from what I understand it works very well. I got the extra needle wheel from Marine Depot and the mesh material from Jay's.
