Has anyone used this? Says: "Mini In-line Chillers are ideal for smaller aquariums with high cooling demands such as nano reef aquariums up to 50 gallons." By my calculations I think I have about 50gal net water volume. Think this will work or should I pay more for something with larger cooling capacity?

Here are the specs: 1/15HP, 700BTU, 100/350 (Min/Max Flow Rate), 60-80°F Temp Range.

I don't really have the money for any chiller at the moment but my tank was up to 89 the other day and I was floating bags of ice. I have a lot of money invested and I might just have to bite the bullet and get a chiller.

I was in the same boat, hooked up my chiller yesterday.

I have around 55 Gallons of actual volume. I went for the 1/10 HP in-line. It seems to cool it off in just the right amount of time. Not too quickly, and it's not running constantly either. 1/15 might me a little small. I am by no means a chiller expert, I just wanted to be sure, so I went up. It seems to be the right one.

You can find good deals on used ones for around 1/2 of the cost of new ones.

Good luck

can you use a window ac? it might get you by but i would probably look for the next size bigger

Okay I'll keep my eyes open for a 1/10Hp. Any ideas on where to look for used ones?
