Feather duster

My feather duster looks like it is trying to climb out of its tube!!! Has anybody seen this before or have any idea what's going on?

I used to have one before he migrated. Nothing is forever and they do move on but u may never find it

Well I only have a 37 g so it can't move to far, and it's about 2 inches wide when it's open. I have never seen it do this before that's why I was asking

O no he did leave and he ditched the feather part in the sand bed, is that normal?

You'll probably never find him & just get another one.

It may of just shed its crown... Mine did that and it took about 2months to grow back but its doing great and healthy as ever. I've had it in my tank for about a year and a half now. It's never left/moved it's tube since I put it in...

Maybe that's all it did was shed, I'll have to investigate more when the light comes on

he most likely didnt like the spot you placed him in.. try to give him a spot with moderate flow, just enough so his crown gently sways in the water so he can sift out food from the water column. If it is too rapid or there is not enough flow he will starve. If he ditched his tube he should make a new one assuming hes alive, it may take awhile. Ive had mine for 5 months or so and ive never had a problem with him.

i have had it in the same spot for 4-5 months and it hasnt done this before. i wouldnt really of been able to move it because it attached itself to a rock where i had it
