Fiji Gold mud and refugium sand depth questions

They are two products
Fiji Gold and Fiji Mud
The gold is just crushed/ powdered coral skeletons
I've used it ...it didn't hurt anything but I'm not sure it really helped anything either. Cool idea as you would think it safe to assume that a coral skeleton would have all the elements in the right proportion needed to form a coral skeleton
The mud I've used also,
I posted those results here recently but basically I've used it alone, as a booster and mixed with sand. I like the idea of having the diversity of mud bed based organisms as well, but once again it's hard to measure any great difference.
One thing I like is that they are both natural products!
