Finally, I did it.

I took the plunge and split my RBTA. Both are attached to LR and the question is how long should I wait to try to feed? Missed that part.

It won't hurt it to let it go a while without feeding. Some people say the digestive tract can be back in service in a week. I think once the mouth is formed it will start trying to eat. Never force feed, just let it decide what is best for itself. Or at least decide as much as any organism with no brain can decide anything.

me too, it's funny cause the one half is moving toward the other half. Both see to have inflated now we just have to wait. It's also funny to watch my clown go back and forth between the two.

Where's the pics? I will be splitting my huge rose someday very soon...more than once. It is way too big.

I was going to split my RBTA but it is taking matters into its own hands and is splitting on its own

Here they are. Unfortunately no one was here to take pics of the actual procedure amd I was knee deep in RBTA.

Mine got too big for my tank and my clown just loves it so I figure if I can keep some of it by splitting it that would be good. So far both are still looking good. Will try to feed this week.

Now I have 2 greens and 1 GIANT rose...I need to cut the rose...

Update

Here is an update a week later. Both anemones are now eating silversides and the mouth looks completely healed. I was worried about one of the halves cause it went hiding for a few days, but now it's out in the spotlight looking happy again.

Just wondering if any one remembers if Anthony Calfo discussed how long before attempting to Frag RBTA again after doing it once. Mine has gotten huge again.

he said 2-4 weeks. If it is able to eat again it should be fine but i would lean towards 4 weeks.
