I got a firefish about 2 weeks ago, I came home from Vaca today and saw my CBS chomping on it....Its in a place I can not get with a net to pull out do I just let the CBS keep eating it until its gone...or do I have to get it out of there?

When I left all was good he was looking super healthy and swimming like normal and always out...didnt see him when I got home so I knew something was up. I dont have a good reason for why he is gone.

That sucks. A fish is a fish...but at least it wasn't a really big (would have probably made ur water parameters bad) or expensise fish(it hits ur pocket and ur feelings)!

I think u should be fine leaving it if you can't get to it. Ur cleanup crew should take care of it really quick!

The funny thing is that was my first loss when I had my 72G setup a few months ago...A $16 regular Firefish. I was able to get it out and went to show my girlfriend and tease the dog at the same time by dangling it in front of him and freak her out...

Make a long story short, her dog (a Yorkshire) didn't even flinch. It just jumped and took it right off my hand and ate it. :: My girl started screaming and by the time I chased him down to get the fish out of his mouth, he had already swallowed it! hahaha she freaked out!!! He seemed to like it though...;)

SUSHI anybody??

Sorry for the loss.

It's best if you can get it out, but it you cannot it will decompose / get eaten naturally. More of a big deal with a big fish, not so much with a little guy like that.

If you want to try to get it out, maybe try blowing at it with a turkey baster and see if that will move it to a spot where you can scoop it out.

depending on your tank size, it wont be a problem. Ive had a few chromis die on me (despite being a hardy fish, i have bad luck with them) and they just get eaten. I actually took a weak chromis that was getting bullied by other ones and put him in my sump for a few days, well he died and within a day his whole body was devoured by bristleworms and w/e else was skulking about in there.
