First Time Visit to Skiptons Pet Center

My 6 year old daughter and I stopped by Skiptons yesterday (2/22/09) to try a new LFS. We are glad we did. My daughter even noticed how clean the tanks were and how good the corals looked. I wanted to purchase some astraeinae snails but, they didn't have any. I ended up purchasing 5 trochus snails, 5 cerith snails a cleaner shrimp and a scopas tang. The scopas tang was a little under weight and about 3 inches long. We were helped by a young woman who demonstrated a solid knowledge of the stock. She assured me that the tang had been at the store approximately 2 months and had been out of quarantine for about 3 weeks and was eating well. After drip acclimating all of the livestock for approximately 60 minutes they were all introduced into my tank. The scopas tang was feed about 20 minutes later and ate aggressively which was very reassuring. We also picked up some macro algae as well. All of this cost us $90. It was a very positive experience and I will definitely shop there again.

PS. There are no puppies there so it is safe to bring your child.

HAHA that's hilarious about the puppies! well, there is a training center and groomer downstairs so you do see OTHER people's puppies but none that your child can possibly take home! lol

Took our first trip here today....well worth the 1 hour drive. Picked up a 6-line wrasse who was quickly become my fav fish; a med bubble tip anemone - who has disappeared under my rock; and a cleaner shrimp who is now just showing his face. Overall very pleased...plus we got the BRS 10% discount. Good service...many thanks Brendon!
