Flame Angle has Ich?

I noticed my angle has some white spots on the tips of it's tail fins and on one on it's head. The spots look crusty; could this be ich? I do not have a quarantine tank set up but will be setting one up today. I read a few post from the site but still not sure what to do since I don't have the QT set up.

What should I do? The angle is the only fish that has it; my clowns look fine.

Imo There Is 3 ways of fixing this i have had ich alot when first starting out...First you could Run Kick ich expensive but works wonders...There is a organic ich attach i think at petco works and is way cheaper then kick ich...I Have a full Mixed Reef and both Products did not hurt any thing anemones-Zoas....Third is just wait and do nothing and it will go away aslong as tank is good parmiters imo...Imo if i had your tank i would medicate if its a newer tank...I have had fish be coverd in ich and my clows be fine...

There's really only one way to treat ich.All other ways in my opinion and experience do not work.
ALL the fish need to be moved from the display tank and put into a hospital tank.There they can be treat with hypo,copper or whatever you decide that is proven to work,kick ich is not one unfortunately.
Then your tank needs to remain fishless for 6-8 weeks,8 weeks being preferred.If you do not do this,there's a very good chance you will have ich in your tank forever.
The time to set up a QT was before getting a fish,not after.
I hope you will read up on this parasite and do what's right.
And trust me I'm not talking down to you in any way for having this happen.
I've been there and done that when I was in my first year.And many other reefers have made the same mistake.

^^ I agree 100% with stingythingy copper/hyposalinity are your best methods in a quarantine tank as well as running a fishless main tank. You want to starve ich for a couple life cycles (fishless display 6-8 weeks) and use copper to kill the ich on the fish. Most of the products at petco for ich have a dye in them that will stain clear silicone on the tank and do not contain copper. Copper is effective but is like chemo-therapy for fish so take precautions not to stress the fish.

Most of the time a fish will get ich from stress (suppressed immune system). While ich is your main concern now, I would also do some digging and try to find if there was anything to cause a stress reaction (poor water quality, poor acclimation) From my experience the biggest cause of death from any ich outbreak has been either a secondary infection from prolonged exposure to ich or not fixing the original stress problem (this is what allows ich to take over in the first place) Good luck!

I agree with,John.
Lympho is also common name (cauliflower).
Looks like white clumps on fins and body.

I just took a couple quick pics. The first pic you can see a white spot a little above the eye. The next 2 are on the tail.

This fish never stops moving so I hope you can see it, I will try to get better pics..

It will go away on it's own if you maintain good water quality and feed nutritious foods.

That's good! The only thig it eats is mysis, pellets, and picks at a the candy cane. I put sea weed in there but it won't touch it.

I went out and bought a tank to setup as a QT. Now I just need to make a batch of water and wait for the cycle.

Keep trying the seaweed. preferably with the garlic. it will go for it eventually.

Most do a water change and use water from the DT tank for the QT.
A cycled QT is not always necessary,but very helpful.

Can't really tell by the photo, but it looks more like lympho than Cryp (ich). Unless it is severe, it will go away on it's own. Lympho is a fairly slow growing virus and is usually nothing to worry about, however, keep the fish strong with good diet and water quality.

Though I doubt I have cleared ich from the system outright, I did just deal with this the last two weeks with my new Hippo Tang.

I bought a skunk cleaner, which I was amazed started to do its thing within hours of going into the tank. The hippo hung out with it a lot.

I also bought the organic Kordon Ich Attach mentioned above. I have done it the last 8 days or so though I forgot yesterday...

The Tang had been scratching himself against the rocks A LOT. Now there is none of it. He never lost his appetite at any point, and is still eating. No ill effects to my anemones, zoas, xenia, palys, crabs, snails, shirmp. I am due for a solid water change, but I can attest to the Hippo no longer having any _visible_ signs.
