Fluidized DI resin?

I got a case of Chemi-Pure as a sample at MACNA this year and I've been running it for a couple of months now. Results are nothing earth shattering but nothing bad either.
It appears to be a mix of carbon, GFO and DI resin.
One thought I had was "how effective could such a small amount of DI be and for how long"? Each "unit" is about a cup and contains about 1/4 cup DI, I run 3 at a time in a fluidized reactor so about 3/4 cup DI. It's an interesting idea but I question the effectiveness.

Any thoughts or experience?

The DI resin part is essentially useless in seawater, so it makes no difference how you use it. There are other polymers that may be useful, but not for such things as directly binding nitrate or phosphate. Organics and metals can be bound by such polymers. Like a polyfilter or Seachem's product.
