Garlic/Plankton etc.

I see so many brands... of garlic and plankton additives, I think I might be considering getting these.

Anyone want throw some advice out there?

garlic yes...supposed to augment fish immune systems

So no Plankton..... some people talk about the marine snow? is that a waste?
I think that's what it's called. What brand of Garlic is widely used? theres so many out there.

I use Kent Garlic Extreme. There could be better brands, I'm happy with it...

Me too, I use the stuff in water not oil. It makes the tank smell oh so nice

So a stupid question here - can you just stick a clove of garlic in the tank?

you're probably better off crushing it up to increase surface area and get more garlic into the tank.

I actually bought some LR from a garlic using member, and the LR actually smelled like garlic

I usually take a clove of garlic and mince it up really fine then add it in to the blender with the fish goo. THe fish really seem to love the garlic.

I have also used the Kent Garlic but it worked about the same as the homemade stuff.

You can buy garlic extract at the super mkt. in the spice section and soak your food in it before feeding to fish. Iused to use Kyolic from natural food store, but it's much more expensive.
