Glass Canopy

Okay the tank I have in my classroom is an old 125 gal with no center bracket. When I aquired the tank 3 or 4 years ago the glass cover that came with it was 3 pieces with brackets in between however was not in good condition so I threw it out. Now since I have been getting things under control with the tank and have it established I wanted to get a glass canopy, however when I ordered the Perfecto Versa Top 72 x 18 (which isn't really those measurements) it doesnt fit!! I've searched all over the place for something that I could order that would fit, however NO LUCK!!! Does anyone have anything that would fit my tank or know where I could get something?? Thanks :)

First off, most of us don't want to use covers like that on reef/saltwater tanks because they block a good amount of light, decrease gas exchange, and prevent evaporation (which is often very useful in keeping tanks cool in the warmer months).

That said, if your tank is an odd/older design your best bet might be to go to a glass shop and have tops custom cut. (be sure to have the edges "ground and polished" so no one cuts themself on the sharp edges). You could probably get away with 3/16" thick, but 1/4" would be safer just because it wouldn't be quite as fragile.
