good place to buy live rock?

nitrofish

reefing again!
where would you go to buy like 40lbs or so of live rock? trying to find a place with some quality live rock with lots of life on it. using it to seed my marco's rocks

For sure. You probably don't even need 40lbs to seed marcos. I bet a cup of live sand, and 10-20 lbs would be plenty to get things rolling.

I seeded Marco Rock with the Garf Grung ... it's been 6 weeks and things are starting to "pink up" ... small critters are moving around ... since you are up in NH ... I would guess Aqua Addicts or Aquarium Gallery ... and I think there's another one Jay's(?) .. (not been there) would work ....

I also agree ... you don't need a lot.

You can get good quantity and quality at Lovely Pets in Quincy. They are located on Parking Way.

FWIW, I wish I never would have seeded my Marco Rock with LR. I ended up with a lot of the nuisances I was trying to avoid. If I could do it again I would only use a cup of sand from someone's tank to seed all the dry rock in my 110.

I was going to split the rock with another reffer that I work with. I mainly want the rock for spondge growth in my sump for natural filtration.

after reading about the garf grundge I think I may go that route. plus Ill get some of tyree's farmed spondge for the sump.
