Green Brain Eats Cleaner Shrimp!

Woke to find my green brain had snagged my cleaner shrimp in the middle of the night. Take a look:

that looks like the molting from the cleaner...look around and your shrimp should be hiding until its new shell hardens.

Are you sure that isn't just a shell and he molted in the night? There is no body in there, but I guess it could have been sucked out.

Darn posting at the same time.

i agree, that looks like a shedded skin...keeping looking, he is still in there :)

I second that. My peppermint molted three days ago and its shell was caught in GSP. LOL

Initially, I thought he had shed. I looked around for him, but could not find him. I thought he had fell prey to the brain.

After reading your responses, I decided to try and coax him out with food. Out he came... he lives.

I have a good one for you. My plate coral at a chromis. The chromis was lowest on the pecking order and , as luck would have it, he floated right into the plate. :)

Yeah, after molting their shell is very soft. They hide for protection.
Good that it's still kickin'!

I can't begin to tell you how many times I have seen my cleaner shrimp eaten. HAHA! It's always just a molt. :) Am glad yours was eaten.

i think thats happened to us all, at least 2x with mine before i learned. hehe
