Anyone see one do this before? It used to be very dark green and now is a pinkish color.

what type of lights you running ... looks like its reaching for light.

I dont have much expereince with BTA ... but mine are small and have always stood small under MEtal Halide 175 Watt .... but originally I ran 330 watts of PC and they looked similiar to yours ... but eventually darkened and the tips bubbled again.

I have mine under the same size lighting (175 watt) ... but higher Kelvin 12K Reeflux ...

have you been feeding it directly ...

IMO i found that mines grew much larger when feeding it directly ... im not sure and ill probably get cut up for it ... I feel that when giving them direct feedings they seem to rely on solid food and less on photosythesis ... I stopped feeding mine around the same time i swithced to metal halides ...

They use to grow rather large not quite as large as yours ... but the same long tentacles and they seem to look more like the BTA they are known to look like.

Far right side of the tank ... there are two one is a split from the other ...

I haven't direct fed it in months. It is actually two (split in December) and green until about a week or two ago. I don't think it's a lighting issue though, because as you can see in these pics, my RBTA is HUGE, keeping color, and lower in the tank. If you think the BTAs are big, get a load of this RBTA below them. For scale, this is a 125 Gal tank.

Where did you get it from? Maybe it was under very low lighting and now that it's up under M.H. it has got it's true color back. Or maybe your lights are to bright to fast for it and it's dark color is fading?

Or maybe it was a rose that was kept in the dark for a while?
I'm not sure what you mean:confused: How would light harm them? Especially 175W? Also, what do you mean when you say that the lights may be too bright too fast? To answer your question, I got the BTA from a BRS member last April. They've been basically the same lighting since I've had them. Here's a picture from this past summer to show its coloring before the change.

Not brand new. Just upgraded from a 75 Gal to a 125 Gal. New sand, but it is already populated. Coraline just hasn't spread on the glass yet, but it is still growing on the rockwork. My BTAs and most of my corals have been in there since April/May.

Mine bleached out a while back, and is just coming back. It looks just like that.

Steve - I noticed that last week. I thought you got rid of the green bta and that the rose split again. That is weird, because it was really green!

Mine bleached during my tank move. It got too cold I think (a heater broke in one of the tubs. I lost everything in there but the clowns and the BTA.)

I have been feeding it heavily since, and it has grown to this color, and then stopped.
