i have a few green tree corals that are getting bigger and in the process getting very close to one of my monti caps, and another to my candy cane colony.should i be concerned?

Whenever corals get close to each other/touch they will engage in chemical warfare and there is usually a winner and a looser. You could either move the tree coral or the other corals or you could frag the tree coral.

If you decide to frag the tree coral it's really easy all you need to do is use a sharp blade and cut some branches use some plastic (not wood) toothpics and stick the toothpic through the base of the fragged piece and then superglue the ends of the toothpic to some LR rubble and then remove the toothpic in a week or two. Just keep the fragged pieces/mother colony in good water movement to help them heal...

i, for some reason thought that the green trees, and similar softies were harmless to other corals--thank you
