I just replaced both my 250 watt Ushio 14K DE bulbs last month.
I get home yesterday and one side of the tank is dark.Check the plugs on the back of the ballast, everything is fine.
Remove the fixture(Reef Optix 3),slide the glass out and notice the bulb discolored white. On further inspection,I notice some loose metal parts inside the bulb.
Replaced it with an old one and it lite right up.
Now the questions.
Anybody had this happen?
Do I now have to eat the cost or can I get a refund?
BTW,this is not a bad review of Ushio.I have had great results in the past.
Just think I may have gotten a defective bulb.
