Anyone out there use Hanna checkers for testing? Contemplating switching over for Alk, calcium, phosphate, etc...

We use the Alk, phosphate, and copper one; all of those seem to work really well. I've compared results from them to API and Red Sea test kits and they all gave similar results. It's my understanding that the calcium one isn't that good because it's extremely picky about how you run the test so the results usually aren't accurate.

I use a Hanna for phosphates and api for CA and Alk. I use the Hanna because I cannot tell the color differences when doing the phosphate tests, so the digital read of the hanna is nice. People don't like the API test kits, but they are cheap and work. For CA, it isn't critical and an acceptable range is huge. For alk, you want it accurate, but it isn't a complicated test. I want the test to be quick and easy; otherwise, I won't do it. To protect against errors, I usually buy a new test and check it with the old test just to see if they are the same. And they have always been the same...

I use Hannah ULR phosphorous (phosphate) checker because I couldn't read the Salifert test. The first 4 numbers looked the same. Everything else I use Salifert.

just did my testing...i use a red sea test for alk. It is easier than hanna and the color change is obvious within .2
