Happy old clown has ICK?

I havn't introduced any new fish, only corals. My understanding was that coral could not introduce ICK. Is this Correct? I have 1 tank raised true perc (appears infected) approx 4 years old, 1 Bangai Cardinal, 4 yers old, 4 blue chromis I introduced in November. 1 Fire shrimp. Everything else appears to be very healthy. Nothing harasses the clown, it hangs out in the GBTA 24/7 except for feeding time. Should I remove him to a QT now or give it a day?

are you sure it's ich?

several white spots looks like salt or sand granules, also a whitish irritated looking spot on his back. frequent rubbing againt live rock. He is eating though. I hope Im wrong, but definitely doesnt look normal to me.

It's been said "anything wet" could bring ick in.

I don't know that it is or is not true, but it makes sense that there would be some chance that a chunck of rock or coral could have a cyst settle onto it and come into your tank that way.

If you've got it, you've got it. I wouldn't overreact / react fast. Give it a little time and observe. If it is indeed Ick, you will have to choose between managing it or treating ALL your fish. Treating one fish is nothing but a lot of stress on the fish with no real benfiit because it will likely be reinfected when it goes back into the tank.

Thanks for the advice. I guess maybe its time to go buy some more cleaners....Id hate to have the other fish infected, but Id be bummed to take him away from his anemone too.

Honestly, if one fish has ick, they all do, or rather the tank does.

Also FWIW, it's been debated some, but at least some say that cleaner shrimp and fish don't really do much of anything to help with parisites. It is said that they are really picking at the damaged skin and such but do little to nothing to help with the parisite.

Sorry to be the bummer here :(

soak some food in garlic juice and feed to the fish....if it is a healthy fish, it will prob go away on its own....just keep an eye on it.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input. Ill keep an eye on 'em and try the garlic. I will stay positive as everything seems healthy.

if you treat all incoming corals, will that kill the ich if it is on it? I do interceptor, then FWE, then iodine.

"4 blue chromis I introduced in November"
My guess would be this is when ich entered your system.
