Hello All another Newb

Hello All,
My name is Diane and I live in Taunton. Yes another newb. I'm hoping with the help from you all and tons of reading I will buy all the right equipment. Please feel free to express your ideas.. I do have a 75 gal tank and stand sitting empty in my living room and a Nova T-5 8 bulb fixture. I was thinking about purchasing the ASM G-5 any suggestions? I'm so excited.. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome Aboard Diane.. could you tell us about what you are thinking of keeping in your tank. Thats a really nice skimmer by the way. First thing i can say is take it really slow, this is not a hobby to jump in head first...

ASM G-5 for a 75? That is a big skimmer for that tank! It also will not fit under the stand and has to be in a sump. Is this going to have a sump room or basement sump? I have a G-4+ under my 120 gallon tank and even that is a big skimmer for that tank. My stand is custom built and a little taller then you average AGA stand. If this is a standard size stand you might be limited to a G-1x or G-2 skimmer, 22 inches tall, G-4 is 24 inches tall, G-5 is 36 inches tall

I'm such a goof. I meant the G3 . I've had Discus in the past..

Just make sure you check your clearance with the sump in and that you will be able to get the collection cup off, the G-3 is 25 inches so you will need 25.5 inches to get it off.

A G-3 Should fit in a 75 g AGA stand no problem
