HELP! My Yellow Tang!

GQadam

Reef Rookie, 72g bow.
I dont know whats wrong but my yellow tang, my oldest fish in my tank, hasnt been moving much for the last 24 hrs. He has been hanging near the bottom of my tank and he just moved to the back of some LR. He doesnt look any different than usually. No signs of Ich only discernible difference I THINK I can see is that his eye look a little "off". Like he is not himself. I dont know what to do. Please help.

I don't know if you feed him those algae sheets (I blanked out on the name!) alond with other food but you should try that. They have ones with Garlic at Petco/Petsmart. I would also get some Garlic liquid extract to intice him to eat. They usually like it and it's good for their immune system...

Just a thought...

from what I have read, every once in a while tangs will stop eating for a couple of days, but then will pick right back up. But if there is any sign of heavy breathing, I would drop in an airstone.

Not sure if you want to get into trying to catch him to put him in QT because that might be a little too stressful on him ... unless he's easy to catch, in which case I'd do that, give him a fresh water (RODI) bath, and put him in a "big" qt tank ... I've noticed fresh water bath's do wonders for tangs :)

Oh! That sucks. I am sorry for ur loss!...

RIP

My tang did this a while back. We lost our yellow tang that we had for a couple years then two days later one of the clowns, then the goby, just kept going. It sucked and I still have no idea why, there were no parasites or anything they all looked healthy but just started dying. I would deff check water parameters to make sure you don't lose anything else.

sorry, i know how you feel.
