I feel like I just spent the last few hours trying to find a T5 ballast kit to buy, but am no closer to knowing what the heck will actually work.
The context: I currently have a dry glass box, 75 gallons of air. I want to gut the existing hood (which is a mess) and rebuild it with 2x 250w metal halides and 2x (or 3x? if they will fit?) T5 actinics, and wiring that is not brittle and crumbling. It's 48" long inside the hood.
I was looking at:
Coralvue 660 Electronic VHO Ballast Kit
http://www.hellolights.com/Coralvue-660-Electronic-VHO-Ballast/dp/B00CXY19MY
and:
2 Lamp Electronic VHO ARO AS220 Ballast Kit
http://www.hellolights.com/Lamp-Electronic-ARO-AS220-Ballast/dp/B00CSAVGIU
Will either of these work? Can someone point me to a simple explanation of VHO vs HO? I thought that VHO was a designation of the old T12 system only, but now I'm not sure.
Thanks...
