OP OP TomD Non-member Jan 6, 2007 #8 I have read those. I just got confused and did not realize I could subsitute Mag Flake for MG?
delta Impatient Reefer Jan 6, 2007 #9 The MagFlake is the magnesium chloride part of the mag recipe and the Epsom Salt is the mag sulfate part.

delta Impatient Reefer Jan 6, 2007 #10 3 cups Magnesuim Sulfate = Epsom salts 5 cups Magnesium chloride = MagFlakes RODI I put the Epsom salt and the Magflake in dry. Then I add enough RODI to make up a gallon total. Shakes well and let sit for 24hrs.

Dave Formerly Rosey Jan 6, 2007 #11 I found a pallet of this stuff at HD http://www.meltsnow.com/msds-mag-pellets.htm can I use it instead of the flake? It looks like the composition is the same as the flake http://www.meltsnow.com/msds-mag-flakes.htm
