Home Depot Play Sand: Who use this and how you like it?

I'm setting up a tank and was looking at the HD Play Sand. I've heard that people use them in their tank. How is it and how do you like it? I noticed there are some glass like piece in the sand and some other particles in the mix. Is it reef safe?

most say it's reef safe. i have used it in freshwater tanks in the past without issue. but it is kinda ugly....brownish....its just not the same as the snow white "reef" sand.

It is silica sand so the particles are sharp and pointy.

I'd probably pay the price for argonite, but you certainly can use the HD silica sand.
