How do rid my tanks of majano anenomes?

It seems lately they have been mutiplying by the dozens. How do i kill them? I'm getting annoyed with these pests. I do have 2 large Copperband B-flys, but does anyone know if they eat majanos?

I don't know if peppermint shrimp work. I think Joe's Juice does though. Kalk paste injected into them should work as well.

If you don't already have a million of them, they are not that hard to peel off and remove in one piece (as compared to aptasia that are impossible to peel off and remove).

Basically just use tweezers or something like that to carefully peel off a bit of the foot and then work the rest off. Time consuming, but possible.

I had some in my old system, peeled most of them off and smothered the rest by globbing epoxy putty over them. Haven't seen any in about 3 yrs now, but then again I didn't have that many.

IME blasting them with kalk paste (or most likely joes juice also) may be a losing battle as any little bit that isn't killed will grow into new manjo's.

IIRC neither copperbands or pepermints are known to eat them, but I may be wrong.

My raccoon eats them

Most raccoons will eat them but then they might move on to zoas and soft corals so be ready to get it out if you go that route

That's what happen to me , so once he cleaned the main tank I put him in the back tank Now if any thing pops up ,I just put the rock in his tank & it's gone in 60 seconds :D
I have been loaning him out , he's a cleaning machine:p

I also have a sea hare thats a cleaning machine , that I also loan out, In fact it's going to starrfish's this week for a fest :p

aptasia control products will kill majano.

Try making up some kalkwasser solution then taking a hypodermic syringe inject the solution into the anemone. In my experience, they melt and die with no return. Good luck!

I've battled these b@stards for about 4 years. JimmyJ is right - best way to rid yourself is manual removal with tweezers. You can Kalk paste them and this might kill them in one application. I make Kalk paste with really hot Di water, about 1 cup, and 2 or 3 heaping tblsp of Kalk. Goes without saying this will kill anything it touches.

I find you need to spray some paste out of a syringe into the mouth, then stab the body and squirt some more. 1 applications usually works but a second within the week has always killed them for me if the first one didn't finish them off.

Also - about 20 minutes after Kalk pasting them, you can remove them with tweezers much easier as they are weak or whatever.

I've never found any natural control - pepermints, butterfly's nothing works. Racoon's make sense but basically eat anything with soft tasty tissue - so for me that won't work.

Good luck, try to keep your nutrients low and that helps prevent them from reaching plague proportions.

I have also read that liquid calcium works. Take a couple tablespoons of Dow Flake dissolved in a cup of hot water and inject.
