How long to wait for PVC plumbing cement to cure?

How much time is allowed when assembling a new PVC plumbing system to a new reef ready setup and the PVC adhesive used to cure before adding any water to the system?

with the pressures we use in our systems, as soon as it sets, it's ready for water, but I generally wait about 15 minutes.....

+1 on about 15 mins... I used to work for a pool company as a service tech and did some plumbing on much higher pressure stuff and would only wait about 15-30 mins for that stuff...

I usually wait a minimum of 24 hours. just to be on the safe side. I believe thats what the label recommends

I am impatient so by the time I finish the plumbing I put it right to work.

Within a minute or two of applying the glue the joint is ready for use.Unless the temperature is colder than 50 deg.In that case the glue dries much more slowly.

10 minutes and turn on the pumps. if you have any reservations just run carbon.

As a side note, on a whim I read directions on primer and glue cans. It said not to prime ABS (the black bulkheads purchased online are mostly ABS plastic). I had been priming them...
