HQI DE bulb flickers

Got a new ARO electronic ballast on a used AB 10k bulb... it's shifting colors
What would be causing that?

the color should be a bit different since the electronic ballast "underdrives" the bulb compared to a HQI or pulse start magnetic ballast.

If it flickers the bulb may just be unhappy with it. IIRC AB bulbs are closer matched to euro ballasts (do best when run on HQI).

Most HQI German bulbs (AB in this case) require HQI ballast. Eletronic ballast may have some issue with them except IceCap e-ballast.

Thanks for the reply's.It is an HQI e ballast. About 15 min later it's bright and steady.I am so going to love this light.

I have an EVC electronic HQI ballast that used to do the same thing with a 250 W AB DE bulb. Since it's one of several lights on my system, it's not all that noticable. I changed to 250 W 14 K Phoenix bulbs not long ago, and I must say I don't think it's flickering anymore (not certain of this though).
