Sherri, if you need help.. I am more than willing to come down to Mason and show you how to give a proper FW bath. I don't want you nor the fish to be stressed. I have a lot of husbandry experience on both the retail and wholesale side, I've quarantined thousands of fish at a time before. A FW bath is no big deal and you really need to confirm what you have before you treat.

The only other commentary I would add is IIRC, 1.008 is now the hypo standard to get rid of ich once and for all, as opposed to 1.015-1.017

Yeah, I haven't followed the whole hypo-salinity crowd for awhile. I've never cared for the process much myself as it only treats a very limited number of ciliated parasites, pretty much only Ich. I typically would never recommend it to a home aquarist for anything but Ich.

I get a little nervous myself doing FW dip.
The fish can become very lethargic while doing this procedure.
Can get the old ticker pumping thinking your killing the fish.But it's just a natural response to lowered salinity levels.

There are definitely mixed reviews of hypo. Honestly, this is the first time I have behaved and used a QT. It's a good thing I guess! I have been lucky up until now.
