Ever since starting in this hobby all I kept hearing about was led led led led so I started looking in to them shortly after setting up my first tank , I miss that 90 . On that tank I went with T5 and it rew things like crazy . it wasn't long before that tank was full and I wanted more , so I set up the basement fish room with dual 210 tanks and 2 40 breeders all tied in to a 150 stock tank sump . this is where problems started for me . I got ich , flatworms , nudis you name it it was a problem . heat was insane in that room running 6 250 watt halides humidity went nuts . Now a year later and 6 or 7 months in to my movin my tank upstairs and breaking down the other 210 in the basement. I finally have things uder control for the time being . pest all gone . water is good . The only 2 issues I had to deal with was cooling the room the tank is in now and reducing the cost of running it . so today I got a pair of hydra 52 hds and I brought my hydra up from my frag tank . I really like how it looks . if I didn't know better I would say I was still running my radiums . next on the list is to get rid of all my electric heaters and run the tank heating needs with my boiler . with all this I believe I can get my bill down under $200 ( its was over $500) with the basement set up corals are doing great , fish are doing great . I am a very happy man right now

are you joking about using your boiler to heat the tanks? Otherwise, how would you do that?

No I am not joking , I am going to run a coil of pex tubing from the boiler through the sump controlled by my reefkeeper . If I can ever get the time on the weekend to do it lol

Well, when you start that project you definitely need to post some pictures. But if I had a $500 electric bill each month, I would definitely come up with a solution or the fish would go bye bye.
